Jupiter Inlet Colony is a small oceanfront town of about 240 single-family homes at the southern tip of Jupiter Island, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Intracoastal Waterway and Loxahatchee River to the west and south. Incorporated in 1959, the town covers about 0.2 square miles, had about 405 residents at the 2020 Census, and has its own police department.
Every home in Jupiter Inlet Colony is a single-family residence, and lots fall into three groups: oceanfront, Intracoastal or riverfront with private docks, and interior lots a short walk from the beach. The town was platted in 1958 by Charles Martyn, who also developed the Village of Tequesta.
Prices reflect the scarcity of land here. Active listings in fall 2026 ranged from about $5.5 million to $14.5 million, and vacant lots have sold in the millions.
Residents can walk to the beach through town access paths, use the town's Beach Club, and keep boats at private docks on the Intracoastal side minutes from the inlet. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum sits directly across the inlet, and Harbourside Place, downtown Jupiter and the restaurants along the Intracoastal are a short drive away. Town Hall and the police department are at 50 Colony Road.
Jupiter Inlet Colony is served by the School District of Palm Beach County. Listing records commonly show Jupiter-area elementary, middle and high schools, but assignments should be confirmed for each address with the district's school locator.
Buyers looking for ocean or deepwater homes often compare Jupiter Island to the north, Admirals Cove on the Intracoastal, and Jonathan's Landing. Neighboring Tequesta and Jupiter offer more waterfront options. Read our guides to oceanfront homes in Jupiter and buying a waterfront home as a boater.
