Hi everyone! My name is Olivia Prevost. I am 20 years old, and over the last nine weeks, I have had the privilege of completing an internship with the Meyer Lucas Real Estate team! I’m a rising senior at The University of Tennessee, studying Marketing and Entrepreneurship. I am on track to graduate in the Spring of 2025. With a strong passion for design, I bring a fresh, fun, and innovative perspective to the table. I am thrilled to share some of my favorite moments from my knowledgeable experience as a summer associate.
In March of 2023, I came across an advertisement online featuring Holly Meyer Lucas and the Meyer Lucas Team—I was immediately inspired. Holly Meyer Lucas, Principal / Founder and also a graduate of the University of Tennessee, is an award-winning real estate leader and the founder of the top-producing real estate team here in Jupiter, Florida. I have viewed her as a role model since the moment I came across the random advertisement on Facebook showcasing some of her most recognized achievements. I told myself, 'That is going to be me one day.' From that point on, I began to research Holly and everything I could find on the empire she has created. I read her story, discovered her 'secret sauce' recipe, watched every podcast she was featured in, as well as any event where she was a guest speaker. I was so inspired by her and was ready to do anything in my power to learn from her. Shortly after reaching out for an internship opportunity, I had just missed the application process, and they had already hired interns for the upcoming summer. From that moment on, I decided to follow our leadership team, as well as anything Meyer Lucas, to keep a close eye on any upcoming opportunities. In January of 2024, I began looking for an internship that aligns with my interests and passions. It was at this point I reached back out to the Meyer Lucas Team and applied for the internship opportunity, and was hired soon after the interview process.
I’ve known I had a strong passion for real estate since I was a little girl. With just one week left before I wrap up my time here in Jupiter, I want to reflect back on this knowledgeable and unique opportunity I was lucky enough to take on. Packing up and moving to an entirely new place at a young age, with just myself and my dog, Teddi Bear, was a challenge that I was motivated and eager to take on. Throughout my application process, the leadership team raised concerns about the move and worried about my happiness here. I immediately felt comforted that not only are they a successful business, but they truly care for those they welcome to join their team. I assured them this was not my first time being on my own and holding many responsibilities. I felt deep down this was the right opportunity for me, and I would do anything to be given the chance to show them what I am capable of bringing to the table.
After arriving here in Jupiter, from day one I have woken up excited to attend work and be a part of this team. Every project, assignment, and task has left me more knowledgeable than before, and the best part is I truly find joy in being surrounded by a team that is so motivated and accomplished. One of my favorite projects we were tasked with was the Home Purchase Anniversary (HPA) gift deliveries. My Chief of Staff, Hallie Rosenthal, has dedicated so much of her time and effort to perfecting the HPA project. The gift deliveries happen annually and are centered around celebrating each individual client's home purchase we have had the privilege of working with. It is something they take great pride in, wanting each client to know they are appreciated for their support. This year, my colleague Ben and I had the chance to hand-deliver most of the gifts to our clients. The home purchase anniversary gifts consist of a Meyer Lucas tote bag filled with a beach towel and some ML swag! It is extremely important to continue to interact in fun, unique ways with clients who may not be active in the market at this time but could be in the future.
The team culture here is one of a kind; we are a family who deeply cares for one another, both inside and outside of the office. The leadership team does a significant job in building trust and transparency in our company, making every effort to foster a positive and welcoming environment where everyone knows they are encouraged to have a voice and share all their ideas. There is so much diversity within our team; we are all so different but also alike in many ways, which brings many creative perspectives to the table. Having a diverse team is crucial; we put our heads together, which makes us exceptional problem solvers! They take pride in thinking outside the box and incorporating many team-building activities to strengthen relationships and friendships among all team members.
I could go on and on about what differentiates The Meyer Lucas Team from other real estate companies, or any company in general, but what first caught my eye is all of our marketing efforts. The way you market your business plays such a huge role in the clientele you are targeting. Our Marketing Director, Ariella Sherman, has a significant role in the success of The Meyer Lucas Team. I have had the opportunity to learn from her and shoot footage of many unique homes, as well as learn how to upload blog posts to our website, and much more. All of these tips and tricks will be so helpful for future opportunities. Although I am currently studying marketing, I have learned during my time here that my interests and passions stem more from client relations, shadowing agents, and expanding my knowledge through different administrative tasks that come with being a successful real estate agent. I am extremely grateful to have had the chance to shadow different positions and find the one that best suits me.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this team. In just nine weeks, I have learned how to be a positive and reliable team member, gained a deeper understanding of the real estate market (including trends, property values, and the buying and selling process), honed client interaction skills, mastered marketing our brand on different platforms like social media, and learned the importance of ensuring trust and credibility in this industry. During my time here in Jupiter outside of work, I discovered Jupiter Lighthouse Yoga. I have never been a true yogi, but one thing about me is I love to try new things! I highly recommend trying out Lighthouse Yoga if your Monday night is free! To wrap everything up—packing up my life and taking the risk of moving to a brand-new place, not knowing a single person, and joining this company—I can confidently say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made, personally and professionally. I have enjoyed every second of this adventure, and I cannot wait to see what opportunities lie ahead on my future path!
