What Compass tools best help you elevate your business?
We use Tour Sheet religiously. It is probably one of the most underrated Compass tools — especially with the insanely busy buyer influx that we've had. Keeping our buyers and the homes they're seeing straight has been very helpful through collections and Tour Sheet. Also, we recently started using the Seller Reports with our Seller workflow and have had great success recently demonstrating to our sellers what we are doing to sell their homes, through our analytics.
How were you able to pivot this year considering the unprecedented times?
When it comes to the unprecedented times of the past year, my mantra has been very simple: stay nimble. We have doubled down on what works and bailed on what doesn’t. Not only do we monitor our analytics — social media insights, website traffic, engagement numbers — like a hawk and use hard data to make decisions, but we have adapted to use new technologies and methods to get the job done.
Which Compass Entrepreneur Principles do you resonate with the most and why?
If there is one thing I know in this real estate business — there is always something to learn and always something to mastermind with other agents. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, some new scenario will jump out of the bushes and make your head spin. Maintaining top-notch relationships inside our community of real estate agents and collaborating without ego is one of the most important things you can do as a realtor and entrepreneur.
Obsess about opportunity. One trait I think all entrepreneurs share is not taking no for an answer and creating opportunities when obstacles come up. Opportunity and negativity are equally everywhere. YOU decide which one you will allow in. If you truly believe in what you’re doing, and in your heart of hearts you’re doing the best that you can possibly do, I promise you — for every step that feels backward, there will be a dozen opportunities calling to take you five steps forward. And when they do call, answer those calls passionately, enthusiastically, and with an open heart.
