Jason Arnel: My Summer with Meyer Lucas Companies

How a Hands-On Internship in Jupiter, FL Sparked My Passion for Marketing in Luxury Real Estate
Jason Arnel

Hi! My name is Jason Arnel. I was born and raised in Somerset County, New Jersey and moved to Jupiter Florida towards the end of high school. I attended Watchung Hills Regional High School and am currently a rising senior at High Point University, studying to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management at the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication. This summer, I had the privilege of interning with the Meyer Lucas team as a Business Development Associate under the mentorship of Holly Meyer Lucas and Hallie Rosenthal.

While applying to over 50 internships across South Florida, I struggled to find the perfect fit for myself. Throughout my search, I kept coming across the Meyer Lucas team's strong social media presence. Whether it was their website or Instagram, the incredible work environment and culture immediately stood out to me. Seeing the lively and vibrant atmosphere, along with the team's energy and professionalism, convinced me that this was the right company for me and that I would thrive in exactly this kind of environment.

Although I never set out to become a real estate agent, I’ve always had a strong interest in the real estate industry and the creativity it brings to the business world. When I came across the Business Development Associate internship position at Meyer Lucas, the responsibilities and culture described immediately stood out. It felt like a perfect fit, aligning with the skills I’ve developed through my coursework and past experiences.

After reaching out to the team in the spring, I had the opportunity to interview with Hallie, the Chief Operating Officer. During our conversation, she shared more about the company’s values and the supportive, tight-knit atmosphere that defines the team. That conversation confirmed everything I had hoped for, and I was thrilled to accept the offer shortly after.

Since starting my internship in May, I have gained valuable hands-on experience that has contributed to both my personal and professional growth. I have developed a strong understanding of marketing strategies, with a particular focus on leveraging digital tools to effectively connect with target audiences. Enhancing my creative skills through content creation and using platforms like Canva has been especially rewarding. Additionally, assisting with website management has given me valuable insight into the critical roles that layout, organization, and SEO play in enhancing user experience and strengthening brand presence. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my internship has been contributing to real-world projects and witnessing how each detail comes together to drive the business forward.

The Meyer Lucas team has been welcoming and supportive from day one. One of the most rewarding parts of my role was spending time in the field with agents and getting a firsthand look at the challenges and successes of real estate in South Florida. A memorable experience was touring a stunning Jupiter listing and creating marketing content to help attract potential buyers. Being able to observe the agents in action while contributing through marketing was truly special. There is a valuable exchange of knowledge between agents and associates, with both learning from each other. That collaborative spirit made the experience even more meaningful.

Beyond the skills and knowledge I gained this summer, one of the most rewarding parts was forming meaningful friendships with fellow associates Sara, Kathleen, Olivia, Ben, and Hunter. Spending countless hours together in the office and during outings allowed us to build a strong bond that I truly value.

Hallie and Holly were both incredible mentors who played a huge role in making this summer such a positive and impactful experience. Hallie’s leadership and expertise in running the company pushed me to work harder, stay focused, and take pride in everything I contributed. Holly’s support, guidance, and energy throughout the summer made every challenge easier and every success more enjoyable. I learned so much from both of them, and their influence made this opportunity one of the most valuable experiences of my college career. Below are some of the projects I am most proud of from this summer!

The Luxury Presence Project

This was a full-summer project that involved me adding over 100 new communities to the Meyer Lucas website platform. This work enhanced the structure of our site and helped attract more potential clients. It is one of the reasons why Meyer Lucas continues to stand out. The project required precision, local knowledge of the Palm Beach County real estate market, and strong writing skills. That combination made it incredibly rewarding to take on. It was a big responsibility, and I took pride in making sure everything was accurate, polished, and written strategically to reflect both the brand and the area.

Jup Scoop Blog

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to write over 50 blogs for the Meyer Lucas team. Writing is something I’ve always loved, and combining it with my passion for real estate made every blog an exciting challenge. Whether I was writing about Inman Miami, highlighting luxury residences we toured, or creating lifestyle pieces like “Things to Do for the Fourth of July” or “Jupiter Dog Beach Ranked Number One,” I always found something meaningful to write about. I made sure each piece was high quality and contributed to the brand’s voice and value.

The Interns Account

This was a group project that ran throughout the summer. It was one of the most fun and creative initiatives I’ve ever been a part of. Alongside Sara, Ben, Kathleen, and Olivia, we built and managed the Meyer Lucas Interns Instagram account. Together, we created over 60 reels and posts, gained more than 40,000 views, and shared some of the funniest and most engaging content of the summer. Through this project, we helped market the Meyer Lucas team, supported the agents, and brought more visibility to the brand throughout the town of Jupiter. It was an awesome project, and I am incredibly grateful to work with such a talented and driven team.

Looking back, I couldn’t be more grateful for my time with the Meyer Lucas team this summer. The experience exceeded every expectation I had and confirmed my passion for both real estate and creative marketing. From the day I arrived, I felt like part of something special, a team that values hard work, innovation, and community. I am already looking forward to possibly returning next summer in a full-time role. Meyer Lucas has become more than just an internship. It is a place I am proud to call home.
