December is “most wonderful time of the year” and we couldn’t agree more! From the sparkly Christmas and Hanukkah decorations, to the family-centric holiday activities, December makes every home feel cozier and more festive, even in tropical South Florida.
Our featured family for Edition Four of the Real Home of Jupiter is the perfect example of a South Florida home and family who exude holiday spirit and December family centric vibes!
Meet the Silvas
One glass of prosecco with Larissa and Juan Silva will leave you laughing hysterically. It is impossible to have a conversation with the Silvas and not have it feel personal, real, and immediately connected.
The Silva’s home is nothing short of breathtaking, especially during the holidays. Larissa’s story as an mompreneur and owner of South Florida’s most sought after childcare centers (Home Away From Home) is everything holiday inspiration is made of.
Located in the estate section of Rialto in Jupiter, the Silva’s home is both sophisticated and elegant, while showcasing on-trend decor elements and impeccable design taste. Anchored by Cuban heritage coupled with New Jersey roots, and South Floridian flair, the Silva’s vibe is in a league of its own.
While Larissa downplays her success and the empire she has built, we are here to tell you, this boss babe and her family are the ultimate #famgoals.
Juan, a retired New York City cop, is the neighbor everyone wants — he’s available when you need him and if he can’t help you, he immediately will have a guy available who can.
Larissa is no different. She is the founder and owner of South Florida’s Home Away From Home childcare facilities - a chain of robust childcare learning centers found throughout Palm Beach county.

As the busy owner of multiple thriving childcare facilities, Larissa is constantly on the go and being pulled in multiple directions. She is the mom of two boys and fur-momma to two dozen dogs (just kidding — there are only six). The way Larissa maintains her composure, keeps her household right and tight, and maintains her position on the top of South Florida’s childcare center throne is astonishing inspiring, and downright badass, if you ask our humble opinion.
The Silva’s home has a local reputation as the go-to holiday favorite for parents of small children in Jupiter. Starting the day after Thanksgiving, an infamous display of inflatable holiday characters can be found holding the Silva’s front yard hostage in the cutest imaginable way - from Santa Mickey to Hank the Septopus, an array of holiday favorites can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

“Sentimental value is a big inspiration in our home decor”, explained Larissa. “I loved creating a home that mimics what is special in our lives. Our home is filled with more timeless staples than trendy accessories.”
The Silvas customized every aspect of their Briarbrooke model in the estate section of Rialto in Jupiter, to meet their daily lifestyle needs. Two of our favorite customizations are the unique DJ room for Juan to spin his house music jams and the screened in dog run on the side of their tropical oasis of a backyard.

“Entertaining our family and friends is one of our passions. Since South Florida has amazing weather year round, we love hosting guests in our outdoor space.”

Larissa and Juan’s backyard is jaw dropping — we aren’t sure if it is the waterslide, fire bowls, tiki bar, the pristine white travertine tile, or the sunken-in spa that is giving us all the pool envy, but either way, this is the tropical oasis of a backyard from your dreams!
The Silvas designed their custom backyard with a focus on outdoor entertaining. They sunk their hot tub into the pool, creating a seamless line of sight so guests can enjoy the home’s sweeping lake views, and also added a Bahama shelf complete with tropical umbrellas and lounge chairs for the ultimate relaxation vibes. (Can you say pass us a pina colada?) The backyard is nothing short of the ultimate South Florida lifestyle retreat and we are so jeally.

“My favorite piece of furniture in our home has immense sentimental value — our custom made dining room table.”
Larissa knew exactly what she wanted for her family’s dining room table, down to the perfect piece of wood from which she wanted it made — a tree from one of their previous homes. She sketched the design and had the table carved from the wood of the tree, and the end result is flawless.
We are in love with this piece in their home and the story behind it.

“Family is at the center of everything for us, so much so that we even created a business based around families” . -Larissa.
“Fall and winter are filled with family-oriented holidays which naturally makes it our favorite time of year. Our favorite decoration is our tree because the tradition we share of decorating the tree together as a family.”
The Silva’s family home exudes holiday spirit, inside and out. Their front yard is known throughout our local community for its holiday themed inflatable wonderland, which can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
