Joining Holly on stage were Lindsey Schmidt, a Virginia Realtor, Army veteran, and relocation specialist who works extensively with military families navigating PCS moves and transitions across the country; Kristine Milkovich, a member broker with Ensemble and National Delegate Board Member for the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance; and Barry Long, co-founder of Able Environments, creator of the Accessibility Real Estate Specialist (ARES™) designation, and a nationally recognized advocate for accessibility and fair housing.
Rather than approaching these conversations through broad industry trends, each panelist shared practical insights rooted in real-world experience. The discussion explored ways agents can better understand the unique considerations military families face during relocation, improve accessibility for buyers and sellers with disabilities, and create welcoming experiences for LGBTQ+ clients by building trust through education, communication, and thoughtful service.
One of the strongest takeaways from the session was that exceptional client service begins with listening. Every client brings a different story, and understanding those individual circumstances allows agents to provide guidance that is both informed and personalized. Whether navigating accessibility needs, coordinating a military move, or helping clients feel confident throughout the buying or selling process, preparation and empathy remain essential parts of professional representation.
